Classic, Modern or Contemporary? How to choose your style

The choice is not only about taste — it is about area, light and how you actually use the home every day.

Start from the space, not from photos

Most people start from an image they liked. It is better to start from your own space: ceiling height, room proportions and how much daylight you get. A classical scheme needs height and length to read correctly; modern works well in mid-size spaces because it relies on restraint and fewer elements.

Think about daily use

A home with children needs durable materials, surfaces that clean easily, and more storage than you expect. Contemporary is often the right answer here because it balances appearance with practicality.

Materials before furniture

Pick three core materials and three tones, then commit to them. That single decision is what makes a home look coherent, even when the furniture changes later.

Do not mix without a reason

Blending styles works, but it needs a shared element to hold it together — a tone, a material, or a repeated detail. Without one, the space reads as a set of unrelated decisions.
