How long does finishing an apartment really take?

There is no single number — here are the phases that set the schedule, and where delays usually happen.

Design: 3 to 6 weeks

Site visit, space planning, the material board and 3D visualization. Rushing this phase is the main cause of delay later, because every change after work begins costs both time and money.

Core works: 4 to 8 weeks

Electrical, plumbing, plaster and floors. This phase determines the quality of everything that follows, and none of it shows in photographs — yet it matters most.

Finishes: 6 to 10 weeks

Gypsum, paint, joinery and lighting. This is where the home starts to appear, and where the difference between one contractor and another becomes visible.

Handover: 1 to 2 weeks

Final cleaning, an item-by-item review, and closing out any snags before you take the keys.

Where delays come from

Late delivery of an imported material, changes made after the design was approved, or starting without a written schedule. All three are avoidable with planning.
